This role is for an EMC Development Engineer focused on Mechatronics and Software Development within the Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks division (Unimog, Econic, Zetros). The engineer will be crucial in ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electrical, electronic, and software products, especially in the context of digitalization, autonomous driving, and e-mobility. Day-to-day tasks involve optimizing and testing EMC compatibility, developing and implementing EMC-compliant design measures in collaboration with hardware and system development teams, and creating detailed test plans and documentation. The position requires conducting internal preliminary tests, managing external test laboratories, and ensuring compliance with standards like ECE, military norms (MIL), CE, and VDE. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in functional and/or software development is beneficial
  • Several years of experience in measurement and testing technology (EMC)
  • Experience handling EMC measuring devices and software
  • Experience with relevant tools and standards (e.g., DOORS, VDE, CE, MIL)
  • Professional experience in the field of fundamental EMC knowledge
