This role seeks a highly motivated Senior Scientist to lead and advance a research group focused on phase formation and transformation in metastable materials under non-equilibrium conditions within the Department of Materials Science at Montanuniversität Leoben. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in both teaching and research at the Chair of Materials Physics, actively participating in the acquisition, application, execution, and supervision of research projects, and mentoring Bachelor's, Master's, and scientific theses. Key requirements include a completed technical/natural science degree with a doctorate in Materials Science, Physics, or a comparable field, coupled with deep knowledge of modern high-performance materials, nanostructured materials, and metastable phases. Experience in advanced characterization methods like X-ray diffractometry, calorimetry, rheology, and nanoindentation is highly desirable, along with strong English proficiency and project management skills, making this an excellent opportunity for a dedicated researcher seeking scientific excellence in an international, interdisciplinary environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical/natural science degree with a Doctorate (PhD) in Materials Science, Physics, or a comparable field. Excellent academic success in studies and doctorate required.
