Job Summary
This role seeks an Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join a specialized Contaminated Sites team in Karlsruhe, focusing on environmental protection, waste management, and geotechnics. The Project Engineer will independently manage complex contaminated sites projects, overseeing the entire lifecycle from proposal preparation and technical analysis through to billing and final documentation. Key responsibilities include coordinating field investigations, managing external service providers (like drilling companies and laboratories), and performing detailed analysis of soil and water samples to assess risks. A critical component of the job involves developing technically and economically viable remediation concepts and authoring expert reports for clients and regulatory authorities. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field. While initial professional experience in contaminated site management is beneficial, highly motivated graduates are welcome and will receive comprehensive training. Success requires strong analytical thinking, proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for data evaluation), and excellent German communication skills (C2 level).

Completed degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoecology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification
Experience
- Initial experience in contaminated site management or the environmental technology sector (recent graduates are welcome)
- Professional experience in project handling from proposal creation to billing
- Experience coordinating investigations and external service providers
