Job Summary

This role involves contributing specialized expertise to patient-oriented diagnostics within a leading medical-diagnostic service provider in Hannover. The Scientific Associate will be responsible for generating reports in molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics, directly influencing individual therapy design. Key daily tasks include analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data and other somatic genetics and Liquid Biopsy analyses, integrating this expertise into routine diagnostics, and optimizing NGS evaluation pipelines. Candidates must hold a degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field, ideally possess experience in oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics, and be proficient in molecular biology and genetic procedures, especially NGS. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field. A PhD is welcome but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Expertise in molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Ability to confidently assess somatic variants according to WHO and Tier classification
  • Desirable: Experience in report generation considering therapeutic options
  • Desirable: Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants
