Job Summary

The Civil Engineer will join the State Office for Road Construction and Transport (LASuV) in Chemnitz, focusing on the planning, execution, and management of complex structural engineering projects, including the new construction, maintenance, and expansion of infrastructure works. Key responsibilities involve comprehensive project management, including object and structural design (from preliminary to approval stages), coordinating technical planning with road construction and environmental teams, managing the awarding and settlement of engineering contracts, processing supplementary claims, and contributing to budget planning. You will also prepare technical statements for third-party development plans and special use permits on federal and state roads. This is a demanding and engaging role within the public sector, offering flexible working hours, telework options, and extensive professional development. The position is open to both experienced professionals and motivated entry-level candidates who hold a relevant engineering degree.

Required Skills

Education

Diplom Engineer (FH or BA) or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Structural Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience in structural engineering planning (desired)
  • Several years of professional experience in the planning area of Structural Engineering (required if basic degree is unrelated)
  • Experience in contract awarding, settlement, and claims processing
