Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position at the Technical University of Munich's Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II) involves leading cutting-edge research in positron physics. The core responsibility is spearheading the construction and implementation of a novel spectrometer. Day-to-day tasks include upgrading a multifunctional surface spectrometer for Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) and positron scattering, expanding Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) systems, preparing thin layers, and operating various excitation sources (X-ray, electron, and positron beams) for surface-sensitive spectroscopy. The role requires a scientifically proven individual with extensive knowledge in surface physics, demonstrated expertise in experimental instrument setup, and proficiency in computer-aided data acquisition and structure reconstruction. This is a unique opportunity to work at one of the world's most modern neutron sources on a crucial, high-security research project, initially limited to a three-year term.
