Job Summary

This role involves active participation in ongoing statistical and Machine Learning projects at the Institute for Digital Medicine, with a specific focus on the interaction between federated Machine Learning and data heterogeneity. The Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to innovative AI projects in cardiology and intensive care medicine, developing, implementing, and evaluating modern AI methods for clinical data analysis, including LLM-based systems (such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation). Key responsibilities also include preparing and publishing scientific results in international journals and conferences, and contributing methodologically to the acquisition of third-party funding. Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Medical Informatics, Data Science), possess strong knowledge of statistics and ML, and have programming proficiency in Python. Education

Doctorate (PhD) in Medical Informatics, Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience

  • Completed doctoral degree (Promotion) in Medical Informatics, Data Science, AI, or a related field
  • Fundamental knowledge in statistics and Machine Learning
  • Experience in the analysis and processing of clinical data
  • Experience in the conception and implementation of LLM-based systems (e.g., RAG or agent-based approaches)
  • Experience with common ML and LLM frameworks
