Job Summary

The Site Reliability Engineer will join a highly motivated, cross-location team of IT specialists and engineers, leveraging their expertise to drive the future-oriented transformation of the German Air Navigation Services (DFS). This role is critical for maintaining the reliability and availability of complex technical systems essential for German air traffic safety. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, documenting, and managing the lifecycle of complex service architectures, independently executing changes to designs, and building, developing, and automating Data Center platforms and Cloud Services. The ideal candidate possesses expert knowledge in Linux/Windows administration, automation tools like Ansible, and experience with Data Center platforms or specific Cloud Services (e.g., DNS, VPN, Kubernetes). This position offers significant creative freedom within a high-stakes, technically advanced environment committed to setting standards in air navigation safety, located at the green campus in Langen near Frankfurt.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Experience in operating a Data Center platform or individual Cloud Services (e.g., Proxy, DNS, VPN, IAM, Monitoring, Microsoft Services, Backup Tools)
  • Experience in Container, Orchestration, and Cloud solutions (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Professional experience in designing and managing complex service architectures
