Job Summary
This role involves working as a Fullstack Web Developer at the Institute for Computer Science within the University of Göttingen, focusing on the continued development and operation of the GAIA application—a language-based personalized tutoring system utilizing chat dialogue and multi-modal interaction (text/voice) to guide students through their studies. The developer will be responsible for implementing and enhancing graphical user interfaces using modern web technologies, including databases and APIs. Key tasks include integrating new GAIA-specific functions, particularly dialog-based AI components and LLM-based services, while focusing on accessibility, user experience, and student-centric design. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Svelte, Angular), backend development (HTTP-based APIs like FastAPI), and collaboration with interdisciplinary project partners in development, didactics, and operations. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Natural Sciences
Experience
- Professional experience with HTML, CSS, and JS
- Professional experience with Frontend Frameworks (e.g., React, Svelte, Angular)
- Professional experience in designing end-user interfaces with good usability
- Professional experience with Backend Development and HTTP-based APIs (e.g., FastAPI)
- Basic knowledge of working with Linux-Shell (command line)
