Job Summary
This role involves working as a Research Associate at TH Köln's Leverkusen Campus on the BMBF-funded joint project "BiOleo" with BASF AG. The primary focus is achieving a PhD by conducting research on the valorization of oleochemical side streams through the transformation of lipids using bio- and chemocatalytic synthesis routes. Day-to-day tasks include optimizing biocatalytic processes, conducting scale-up studies in close collaboration with the industrial partner, and publishing results in scientific journals and presenting at international conferences. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field, possesses expertise in enzymatic syntheses and catalysis, and is capable of independent, structured scientific work. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a comparable field. PhD enrollment required.
Experience
- Professional experience in catalysis with a focus on enzymatic syntheses
- Initial experience in enzyme immobilization (Desirable)
- Initial experience in process development (Desirable)
- Initial knowledge of project management and presentation techniques (Desirable)
