Job Summary

This role is a fixed-term opportunity until the end of 2027 within the City of Trier Administration, focusing on optimizing energy efficiency across municipal real estate. The technician will provide essential technical support for the continuous development of energy management systems, including electrical infrastructure, heating systems, and energy-generating plants such as photovoltaics and combined heat and power (CHP) units. Key responsibilities involve the technical monitoring of facilities, implementing energy-saving measures, setting up digital metering structures, and conducting detailed analysis of energy and water consumption data. The ideal candidate must hold a qualification as a State-Certified Technician or Master Craftsman in a relevant field like HVAC or Electrical Engineering, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a proactive interest in efficient energy utilization. The position requires proficiency in standard IT applications and the willingness to quickly learn new specialized software.

Required Skills

Education

State-Certified Technician in Energy Management, Facility Management, HVAC, or Electrical Engineering; OR Completed Master Craftsman training in a relevant technical field

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical support for energy management projects
  • Experience in the technical monitoring and optimization of energy-consuming facilities
  • Experience with energy reporting and the creation of energy certificates
  • Knowledge of construction technical regulations, public and private construction law (desired)
