Job Summary

This role involves providing critical administrative and financial support for the 'TORCH – Transformative Teaching and Learning for Sustainability' third-party funded project at the University of Kassel. The specialist will be responsible for the administrative oversight of project measures, including creating comprehensive financial plans (overall financing plans, annual plans, and internal budgeting) and managing communication and reporting to the funding agency. Key duties include administrative support for implementing measures (procurement, contracting, grant disbursements, and preparing evidence of use), monitoring deadlines and budgets, and ensuring thorough documentation. The ideal candidate must possess strong financial and administrative competence, experience managing third-party funds, and the ability to steer the project alongside a multidisciplinary team to meet sustainability goals.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree, or qualification as an Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt/in), or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in third-party fund administration
  • Experience managing tasks within a large financial volume
  • Knowledge of administrative structures and academic self-governance processes
  • Experience with university teaching operations (advantageous)
  • Experience executing sustainability projects (advantageous)
