Job Summary

This role involves ensuring comprehensive occupational health and safety (OHS) and structural fire protection for S-Bahn Berlin GmbH. The specialist acts independently as the Safety Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) according to German regulations, actively shaping effective OHS and health protection programs. Key responsibilities include advising management on safety and accident prevention, developing practical concepts for structural and preventive fire protection, and managing all fire protection facilities as the Fire Protection Officer. The role requires coordinating with supervisory authorities (fire department, insurers, EBA), conducting safety audits, and organizing training and drills. The ideal candidate has a technical degree or equivalent qualification, certified training as a Safety Specialist, and ideally, Fire Protection Officer certification, coupled with a proactive, solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills to drive continuous improvement in the integrated management system.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical degree or certification as a Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician; Completed training as a Safety Specialist; Certification as a Fire Protection Officer (or willingness to obtain it)

Experience

  • Professional experience in occupational safety and fire protection (advantageous)
