Job Summary

This role involves leading and managing projects focused on environmental assessments and species protection within the context of permitting procedures and land-use planning. The Project Manager will conduct ecological investigations, prepare expert environmental opinions (including specific assessments under species protection law), and perform nature and species protection mapping and evaluations (e.g., impact mitigation, biotope type mapping). A key part of the job is preparing hydro-ecological reports, addressing water law issues, and supporting the overall permitting processes. The ideal candidate holds a degree in environmental or natural sciences, possesses strong knowledge of nature and environmental law, and has specific expertise in species protection, particularly flora. Success requires excellent negotiation skills, a confident demeanor when dealing with clients, and a high degree of commitment and willingness to travel extensively within Southern Germany.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Environmental Sciences, Natural Sciences (focus on Biology, Geoecology, Environmental Protection, or Environmental Engineering), or comparable qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conducting ecological investigations and assessments
  • Professional experience in preparing environmental expert opinions and statements

  • Professional experience in accompanying official permitting procedures
