Job Summary

The Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) is seeking a Scientific Researcher to join the Water Chemistry division in Koblenz, focused on the BMV research network project concerning traffic-related pollutant emissions and immissions. This is a crucial role within an interdisciplinary team, tasked with independently investigating the release behavior of known and unknown organic substances from the transport sector into aquatic environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and applying innovative analytical methods, conducting non-target analysis for trace organic substance identification, planning and executing measurement campaigns and sampling, and evaluating the environmental behavior and effects of released substances. The position requires a Master's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or Geoecology, strong expertise in environmental chemistry and instrumental analysis (preferably GC- and LC-(HR)MS), and excellent German (C1) and English language skills.
