Job Summary
This role is for a highly experienced Senior Expert specializing in Signaling, Telecommunications, and Electrical (STE) systems, specifically focusing on cable routing planning for the new Frankfurt–Mannheim railway line. The expert will be responsible for coordinating and managing the quality-compliant execution of planning and realization services, including all necessary interim and final approvals, particularly for cable routing. Key daily tasks involve risk management, reviewing engineering and construction contracts, contributing to cost and schedule updates, and assisting in creating tender documents and financing applications. A core responsibility is ensuring compliance with all project-specific third-party and governmental approvals, requiring extensive coordination with national and European authorities. This is a crucial, part-time, 12-month fixed-term position based in Saarbrücken, requiring deep technical expertise and strong project management skills in railway infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering, or a career path qualification in the mid-level civil service
Experience
- At least 30 years of experience in project management of technical railway equipment systems regarding surveying and underground cable construction
- Professional experience in successfully managing projects
- Experience in dealing with engineering firms and authorities
- Knowledge of VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures), VOL (German Procurement Procedures for Services), and HOAI (German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers)
