Job Summary

This role is centered on ensuring the long-term viability and safety of railway Signaling, Control, and Safety (SCS) systems by managing component obsolescence. The specialist will be responsible for the qualification of replacement components for obsolete SCS systems, including conducting metrological analyses, ensuring compliance with standards (GluV, Mü8004, etc.), and preparing comprehensive documentation. Daily tasks involve developing manufacturing, repair, and testing specifications, implementing test parameters in software, and building/testing new test benches. Candidates must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, strong practical knowledge of obsolescence and approval management within SCS technology, and expertise in analyzing electronic components and circuits. This position offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects for Deutsche Bahn, ensuring the sustainability of essential railway systems for future generations.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics) or comparable qualification as a Technician/Master acquired through relevant professional experience

Experience

  • Professional experience in obsolescence and approval management in Signaling, Control, and Safety technology
  • Practical knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (GluV, LST-Zulassungsverfahren, Mü8004, Sektorleitlinie)
  • Experience in developing and testing new test benches
