Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Microbiology Laboratory Manager to lead a Biosafety Level 2 microbiological laboratory team of five employees within the Quality Control department of a leading global manufacturer of herbal medicines in Karlsruhe. The manager will be crucial in ensuring the consistently high quality of pharmaceutical products by overseeing daily sample management for raw materials, intermediate, and final products, ensuring smooth production flow. Key responsibilities include team leadership, acting as the primary contact for microbial issues, performing quality assessments of results according to GMP guidelines, initiating deviation reports, and preparing Viral Safety reports for animal-derived starting materials. The position requires a degree in a natural science field with a focus on microbiology, at least two years of experience handling pathogenic germs for regulatory recognition, and proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIMS) and SAP.
