Job Summary

This role involves acting as a Technical Specialist in Material Management, focusing on the classification and maintenance of critical material data, particularly for electro-mechanical and electronic components. Day-to-day responsibilities include independently classifying materials, assigning customs tariff numbers (requiring personal certification), and managing GTIN and GS1 numbers. A significant part of the job involves evaluating, selecting, and introducing replacement materials for obsolete parts, managing quality reports, and ensuring material master data quality aligns with legal and normative requirements (e.g., REACH, RoHS). The specialist will also provide technical support to development departments on material-related issues and assist with cost estimations for development and change processes. The ideal candidate has an electrical engineering background (Technician/Master level or MINT degree), initial professional experience, and familiarity with SAP and component data sheets.
