Job Summary

This position, equivalent to a Lecturer or Assistant Professor (E13 TV-L), seeks a highly conceptual and hypothesis-driven ecologist to join the Plant Ecology Group at the University of Tübingen. The core responsibility involves developing and executing an independent research portfolio that complements existing group interests, focusing on areas such as plant population ecology, community ecology, restoration ecology, or global change biology. The role also includes significant teaching duties, requiring four hours per week of instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels in fields like biostatistics, botany, or conservation ecology. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in ecology or a related field and possess excellent skills in designing, conducting, and analyzing ecological experiments, coupled with strong scientific writing and presentation abilities. This initial three-year contract offers a crucial opportunity for academic career progression in a dynamic research environment.
