Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the secure and smooth operation of protection and control technology systems within a high-voltage transmission network. The Electrician will primarily conduct on-site testing, quality assurance, maintenance, and commissioning checks of protection and control systems in substations across the 50Hertz grid area. A central component of the job is frequent, multi-day business travel with overnight stays. Key responsibilities include working with High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems and grid control systems, utilizing specialized testing software, and ensuring proper documentation and coordination. Candidates must have a background in electrical engineering or a related technical field, proven experience in high-voltage protection or control technology, and proficiency in German (C1) and English (B2). The position offers flexible work arrangements, including mobile work and flexible scheduling, balanced against the high requirement for on-site presence and travel.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training, Master Craftsman, or Technician qualification in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or a completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in protection or control technology within high-voltage engineering
  • Experience in commissioning and serial protocols
  • Experience with HVDC systems or grid control systems (STATCOM, MSCDN, MSR, RPS) (Advantageous)
