Job Summary

This role involves developing, supporting, and releasing electrical and electronic components, software, and systems focusing on the vehicle electrical system (Bordnetz) and electric Power Take-Off (ePTO), balancing cost, schedule, and quality constraints. The Development Engineer will be responsible for integrating components and software derived from the passenger car module strategy into the current vehicle architecture, requiring close coordination with system owners and E/E architecture teams. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing system specifications, managing overall schedules, coordinating releases, and planning comprehensive testing, including test concepts and specifications. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on vehicle electronics, strong professional experience in automotive development processes, and expertise in high-voltage applications, functional safety (FuSi), and using tools like CANape for testing. Fluency in both German and English is required for effective collaboration with internal teams, management, and external suppliers.

Education

Completed University Degree (Diplom, Bachelor, or Master) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Vehicle Electronics

Experience

  • Professional experience with fundamental knowledge in vehicle electronics and the vehicle development process
  • Experience in developing complex components and systems for high-voltage applications in the automotive sector
  • Routine handling of CANape for conducting and documenting test cases on vehicles and test benches
  • Experience in the Functional Safety (FuSi) process and creating hazard and risk analyses
