Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Materials Tester specializing in metallography, supporting quality assurance and development projects within the aerospace industry, specifically for AIRBUS. Day-to-day tasks involve the preparation of metallographic and materialographic samples, including embedding, grinding, and polishing. The professional will conduct image analysis using advanced light and digital microscopy, testing materials such as fiber composites (GFRP, CFRP), metals (aluminum, titanium, steel), and hybrid combinations. Key responsibilities also include performing and evaluating serial accompanying tests for quality assurance, analyzing damage cases, documenting findings, and determining root causes. The ideal candidate must have completed vocational training as a Materials Tester or equivalent, possess at least two years of laboratory experience, and have strong knowledge of metallurgy or comparable material fields. Fluency in German and good to very good English skills are required, making this an excellent opportunity to apply specialized material science expertise in a high-tech environment.
