Job Summary

This Senior Machine Learning Engineer role focuses on enhancing Zalando's MLOps Platform, driving scalability, efficiency, and impact within the DARA ML & Data platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining foundational ML platform components for data access, feature management, and model training/deployment at scale. The engineer will develop infrastructure and tooling to enable automated experimentation, versioning, deployment, and monitoring of ML models, specifically working with the Feature Store, Airflow pipelines, and Databricks jobs. Key requirements include over five years of professional experience using Spark, AWS, Apache Airflow, and Python, coupled with proven expertise in productionizing ML models and orchestrating complex ML workflows. The ideal candidate will architect scalable, modular systems, implement core APIs for standardized ML execution, and establish engineering best practices in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
