Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Research Associate to contribute to national and international advancements in drinking water hygiene, specifically focusing on Water Safety Plans (WSP) and integrated Water and Sanitation Safety Plans (iWSSP). The associate will be responsible for independently developing training materials, particularly for English-speaking audiences, preparing and conducting international training workshops, and supporting the Water and Health Protocol work program. Key activities include scientific data collection in EU member states regarding risk management, integrating climate aspects into risk management systems, and conducting literature reviews on equitable access to drinking water. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering with a focus on environmental or health protection, possesses strong expertise in drinking water hygiene concepts, and demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent), preferably in Natural Sciences (focus on environmental or health protection) or Engineering (focus on technical environmental protection)

Experience

  • Experience in conducting training sessions on risk management in drinking water hygiene (Desirable)
  • Professional experience in scientific data collection and analysis
  • Experience in report writing and project proposal development

Additional

  • The position is contingent upon the availability of third-party funding (Drittmittel). Willingness to travel internationally is desirable. This is a part-time position (55% of the regular weekly working hours) and is temporary (BEFRISTET).
