Job Summary

This role involves supporting the environmental impact assessment and management for critical transportation infrastructure projects within Berlin, focusing on road, bridge, water construction, and independent cycling paths. The successful candidate will manage the environmental expert appraisal and planning process up to approval, ensuring compliance with complex regulations concerning environmental, immission, landscape, and species protection, as well as water law. Day-to-day tasks include preparing technical specifications for outsourcing planning and expert services (e.g., landscape conservation plans, EIA reports, noise assessments), coordinating contract execution, quality assurance, and managing timelines and costs. This position requires strong negotiation and coordination skills for liaising with approval authorities, environmental agencies, and the public, contributing directly to Berlin's climate-resilient urban transformation.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or Diploma (FH)) in Landscape/Environmental Planning, Nature Conservation/Ecology, Resource Management, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Long-term practical experience in the field
  • Experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
  • Experience in nature conservation and immission control
