Job Summary

Join the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) as a Software Development Professional to streamline investigative workflows by automating processes and ensuring critical information is readily available. This role involves comprehensive software development, from planning and implementation to optimization and quality assurance, focusing on national and international information processing systems. Key responsibilities include managing the product lifecycle, acting as a Product/Delivery/Service Manager, and ensuring solutions are robust and well-documented. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in a MINT field with an IT focus and significant professional experience, particularly with agile methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban), interface design (SOAP/XML, REST/JSON), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity within a high-level federal authority, offering meaningful work and flexible arrangements, though it is initially limited to a two-year contract.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma (FH) or Bachelor) in a MINT field with an IT component, or comparable skills and experience, or a completed vocational training in IT.

Experience

  • 3 years of professional experience in an IT-focused profession following a university degree (Diploma (FH) or Bachelor) in a MINT field with an IT component
  • OR 6 years of professional experience in an IT-focused profession following a completed vocational training in IT
  • Comprehensive experience working in agile teams (SCRUM and/or Kanban)
  • Experience in designing and implementing interfaces using Remoting technologies (SOAP/XML and REST/JSON)
  • Experience with software containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)

Additional

  • Consent to undergo an extended security clearance (SÜG § 9) is required. Mandatory willingness to provide a DNA sample for inclusion in the BKA's Internal Reference File (to exclude the employee as a trace originator in forensic investigations). Willingness to participate in on-call duty (DevOps operation, maximum 6 weeks per year). Willingness for occasional domestic business travel (1-5 days). Position is initially limited to 2 years.
