Job Summary

This fixed-term 3.5-year position as an Academic Research Associate and PhD Candidate (65% FTE) at the University Hospital Würzburg offers an exceptional opportunity within a DFG-funded Transregio Collaborative Research Centre. The core focus is on translational cancer research, investigating the impact of steroid hormones on cancer immunity, specifically in adrenocortical carcinoma, and developing optimized CAR-T cell therapies. Day-to-day responsibilities include the independent planning, execution, and rigorous evaluation of cellular, molecular, and (animal) studies. Candidates will apply cutting-edge techniques such as CAR-T cell technology and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. The role requires a very strong academic background (Master's/Diploma) in life sciences like Biology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Medicine, coupled with a high degree of motivation and teamwork skills.
