Job Summary

The City of Saarbrücken is seeking a dedicated Immission Control Officer to join its Climate and Environmental Protection Office. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be the lead expert for immission control, air quality, electromagnetic fields, and urban climate within the city. Your daily tasks will involve preparing expert opinions for building permits and urban planning, updating noise action plans, coordinating air quality plans, and serving as a key contact for mobile communication companies, citizens, and various administrations. This position requires a strong background in environmental or engineering sciences, significant professional experience in immission control, and a solid understanding of relevant environmental laws. It offers the chance to make a tangible impact on urban environmental quality and work within a supportive, diverse team.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma/Bachelor or Master) in Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences, Geosciences, Engineering Sciences (e.g., Technical Environmental Protection, Environmental Engineering), or Urban/Spatial Planning with a focus on Immission Control. Preferably with a good grade.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in immission control
  • Experience in urban climate or comparable activities (advantageous)
  • Experience in the practical implementation of noise reduction measures (advantageous)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Foreign university degrees require a certificate evaluation from the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK/ZAB – Central Office for Foreign Education).
