This role involves the operational execution of waste and material flow management for the highway infrastructure, ensuring compliance with federal and state-specific waste legislation. The specialist will advise on waste laws, specifically concerning the handling, recycling, and disposal of construction materials, and act as the primary contact for regional environmental authorities and engineering firms. Key responsibilities include managing electronic waste verification (ZEDAL/eANV) and coordinating the tendering and supervision of engineering services for environmental, geotechnical, and hydrogeological preliminary investigations. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field, possesses expertise in environmental and waste legislation (KrWG, BBodSchV, ErsatzbaustoffV), and is prepared to handle technical consultations and dispute resolution related to material flow management in infrastructure projects. This position is crucial for maintaining sustainable and compliant operations within the German highway network.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university or technical college degree in Environmental Engineering or comparable specialized knowledge, qualifications, and experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in waste or material flow management
  • Experience preferably in infrastructure construction projects
  • Knowledge of the Schedule of Fees for Architects and Engineers (HOAI)
  • Knowledge of public procurement law
