Job Summary
This hybrid role in Starnberg, Germany, focuses primarily on ensuring the legal compliance, efficiency, and cost-optimization of the company's IT software licenses. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and optimizing software licenses and contracts, preparing annual IT license balances, conducting reports and analyses on license usage, and supporting internal license audits. The manager will also advise internal stakeholders on licensing strategies and collaborate with IT Security, Procurement, and Legal departments on licensing issues. Additionally, approximately 20% of the role involves acting as an IT Support Engineer, providing high-quality 1st and 2nd level support for selected topics, such as Microsoft 365, utilizing an IT ticketing system. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Computer Science or IT and significant professional experience in both IT support and Software Asset Management (SAM), coupled with strong analytical skills and knowledge of common licensing models (e.g., Microsoft, VMware).
