Job Summary

This role involves taking overall responsibility for the bid process within project and product business, from initial offering through to handover to project management. The Technical Sales Manager will actively lead the Bid Team, coordinating all involved specialist departments and service functions, including regionally dispersed teams. Day-to-day activities include coordinating bid activities, preparing offer documentation, managing internal approval processes, and presenting projects confidently to clients and management. The position requires strong experience in technical sales, bid management, or business development for complex technical systems, ideally within plant or mechanical engineering, coupled with expertise in the electrical energy sector (HVDC & FACTS). This is a central, high-impact role driving sales of the service portfolio and developing new business models within a growing environment at a leading energy technology company.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • 3–5 years in technical sales, bid management, or business development for complex technical systems
  • Experience in plant or mechanical engineering (ideally)
  • Experience in the electrical energy sector, including transmission and distribution networks
  • Experience in dealing with customers and building stakeholder relationships
  • Experience with project management and relevant certifications
