Job Summary

This critical role as a Facility Protection and Maintenance Technician/Master Craftsman involves ensuring the highest safety standards at the Isar storage facility, which handles radioactive waste. Day-to-day responsibilities include rigorous control of site security procedures (OSD), continuous monitoring of operational processes, and prompt clarification of technical and operational disruptions affecting safety and security systems. The incumbent will serve as a competent person for emergency response, initiating alarms, coordinating external relief forces (fire, rescue), and administering first aid, even within controlled radiation areas. Key qualifications include a Master Craftsman or Technician degree in a relevant technical field such as Electrical Engineering, IT/Communications, or Mechatronics, coupled with essential knowledge in fire protection, radiation protection, and occupational safety. This position requires readiness for shift work and offers the stability of an unlimited contract with attractive compensation, contributing significantly to Germany's sustainable nuclear disposal efforts.

Required Skills

Education

Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician qualification in a technical field (preferably Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communications/IT, Mechatronics, or Protection and Security). Requirement to acquire specialized knowledge according to the Interim Storage Specialist Knowledge Guideline.

Experience

  • Professional experience as a Master Craftsman or Technician in a technical field
