Job Summary

This Research Associate role involves coordinating and managing the EU-INTERREG project "MULTI.DIV: Protection of Biodiversity in the Upper Rhine Area: Monitoring and Perspectives" at the State Museum of Natural History Karlsruhe (SMNK). The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and coordinating the "UpperRhineCluster" research network, managing project partners, and overseeing the administration of research samples. Key tasks also include building a shared database, participating in the analysis of historical and current genetic samples of target organisms, and preparing research findings for diverse audiences, ranging from specialists to the general public and school groups. This position requires strong organizational skills, expertise in biodiversity monitoring and genetic analysis, and excellent communication abilities in both German and English, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to regional biodiversity protection within a renowned research museum.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma, Master's, or PhD) in Biology or similar disciplines with a focus on Biodiversity, Ecology, or Evolutionary Biology
