Job Summary

The University of Leipzig is seeking a dedicated Research Associate to join the Institute for Theoretical Economics, focusing on Money, Credit, and Banking. This role is designed for individuals aiming for a doctoral degree, offering a dynamic environment within one of Germany's leading research universities. Key responsibilities include conducting quantitative research in finance, monetary policy, and financial markets, with the explicit goal of obtaining a Ph.D. The associate will be expected to write and publish scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, present research at international conferences, and actively participate in the faculty's research and teaching activities, including the Central German Doctoral Program in Economics (CGDE). Candidates must possess a very good university degree in Economics, Econometrics, or Financial Economics, coupled with strong knowledge of quantitative research methodologies. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory, alongside a willingness for international collaboration and research stays abroad.
