Job Summary

Join a leading engineering service company specializing in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities as a remote-based Chemist, Physicist, or Engineer focused on disposal documentation. In this critical role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and verifying container and final repository documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks involve evaluating nuclide inventory based on analytical data, calculating activities, performing re-declarations, and assessing radiological parameters like radiotoxicity and heat generation. You will also coordinate technically with authorities, experts, and internal interfaces (e.g., decommissioning, radiation protection, quality management). The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering and possesses practical experience in radiological waste disposal documentation and declaration. Strong IT skills and fluent German are essential for success in this demanding, yet rewarding, position.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master / Bachelor) in Natural Sciences, Engineering, or comparable field

Experience

  • Practical experience in radiological disposal, especially in the declaration, re-declaration, and documentation of radioactive waste
  • Knowledge of the Radiation Protection Ordinance, final repository procedures, or waste conditioning
  • Fundamental knowledge of radiation protection law
