Job Summary

This remote-based position involves joining a leading engineering service company specializing in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. The professional will be responsible for developing, updating, and technically evaluating disposal and waste concepts, and defining suitable disposal strategies, including clearance, interim, and final storage. Key day-to-day tasks include performing radiological waste characterization and declaration, creating and maintaining nuclide vectors, and developing sampling and analysis concepts. The role requires a university degree in natural sciences or engineering, coupled with fundamental knowledge of nuclear waste management, radioactive waste handling, conditioning, and documentation. Strong IT skills, the ability to work independently, and fluent German language skills are essential for coordinating interfaces with internal departments, experts, and regulatory authorities, and supporting audits and governmental reviews.

Experience

  • Professional experience in waste management of nuclear facilities
  • Experience handling radioactive waste, including characterization, conditioning, and documentation
  • Experience with waste verification procedures, clearance procedures, or final repository documentation
