Job Summary

This role involves transforming data into actionable insights within the Data Analytics Team of a leading German insurer, specifically focusing on the Asset Management division. The Senior Data Scientist will conceptualize, develop, implement, and optimize quantitative investment solutions and asset allocation strategies using advanced Machine Learning and AI methods, including Deep Learning. You will work within an agile, interdisciplinary team of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Portfolio Managers, translating cutting-edge research into practical financial market challenges. A key part of the role is consulting portfolio/risk management stakeholders on the potential of quantitative approaches and mentoring junior staff. Success requires a Master's degree (or PhD) in a quantitative field, strong Python programming skills, and significant practical experience in developing ML solutions, ideally within the financial industry, coupled with project leadership experience.

Required Skills

Master's degree (minimum, ideally PhD) in Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Several years of practical experience in developing Machine Learning solutions
