Job Summary
This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of central medical and business software within a leading university hospital's IT department, focusing specifically on Intensive Care Unit (ICU) software environments and Patient Data Management Systems (PDMS). The specialist acts as a Service Owner, ensuring operational readiness through selection, installation, user management, maintenance, migration, and decommissioning of applications. Day-to-day tasks include introducing innovative software and automation projects, analyzing complex errors and performance issues, developing solutions, and providing expert consultation and training to key users and staff. This position is critical for the ongoing digitalization of healthcare processes, requiring collaboration with medical departments and external partners, and participation in an on-call rotation. The ideal candidate possesses a background in Informatics or IT, preferably with clinical process knowledge and experience in hospital information systems.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in (Medical) Informatics or a comparable field, OR completed IT technical training, OR lateral entry from a medical field with IT knowledge.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT or a comparable field (if possessing an IT technical education)
- Multi-year professional experience working with Hospital Information Systems (desirable)
- Experience with medical standards and interfaces (HL7, FHIR, IHE, DICOM) (desirable)
- Experience in project and process management, especially strategic project leadership and successful implementation in healthcare (desirable)
