Job Summary

This role is based at the University Hospital Frankfurt within the Translational Pediatric Oncology Research Group. As a PhD candidate, you will investigate dysregulated gene-expression programs in pediatric cancers to identify new therapeutic vulnerabilities. Your daily work will involve designing and performing CRISPR-based genetic perturbation screens, analyzing complex epigenetic and transcriptomic datasets, and functionally validating candidate genes in cellular models. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of molecular biology and clinical application, contributing to precision-oncology strategies for children. You will operate in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, presenting your findings at scientific meetings and contributing to high-impact publications. Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree in Life Sciences or a closely related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in standard molecular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, and flow cytometry
  • Experience in analyzing high-throughput datasets including RNA-seq and proteomics
  • Proven track record of academic excellence in the field of Life Sciences
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary research environments involving clinicians and computational scientists

Additional

  • Valid proof of measles immunity or measles vaccination is required by law. The position is part-time (26 hours/week) and initially limited to one year with the possibility of extension. Location: Frankfurt, Germany.
