Job Summary

This role involves the crucial enforcement of European industrial emissions directives, specifically focusing on the German Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and the Circular Economy Act (KrWG). The successful candidate will primarily handle the permitting and monitoring of livestock farms, biogas plants, and facilities producing food, luxury goods, and feedstuffs. Daily tasks include drafting orders, prohibitions, and closures under the BImSchG, processing administrative offenses and appeals, and conducting regular on-site inspections and incident inspections. This position requires strong communication, negotiation skills, and a background in environmental engineering or science, offering a meaningful, varied, and challenging assignment within a supportive team environment in Schwerin.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in environmental technology, industrial environmental protection, environmental engineering, environmental sciences, land cultivation and environmental protection, or natural sciences

Experience

  • Professional experience in the application of the BImSchG (desirable)
  • Experience in regulatory enforcement and compliance
  • Professional experience in environmental technology or natural sciences

Languages

German (Fluent)

  • Must possess a valid driver's license (PKW-Führerschein); Must be able to work unrestricted in the field (Außendienstfähigkeit) and be physically resilient for on-site controls; Willingness to acquire or deepen knowledge in administrative law is required.
