Job Summary

This role involves operating, maintaining, and optimizing electronic facility monitoring systems and supervising internal and external networks, servers, and end devices for the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The technician will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing data from various properties, performing target-actual comparisons on control and regulation systems, and troubleshooting malfunctions. Key responsibilities also include supporting maintenance and repair work on components related to system administration, data processing, communication systems, and radio/radar systems. The position requires shift work (24/7 operation) and participation in advanced training. Candidates must have a relevant technical qualification, deep knowledge of operating systems (like Linux) and databases (like Oracle), and the willingness to undergo an expanded security clearance (Ü2). This is a full-time, permanent position offering an attractive salary within the public service pay scale (TVöD E6).

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training (Berufsabschluss) as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, Electronics Technician for Information System Technology, Process Electronics Technician, or IT Specialist. Completion of the DV-Elo course is desired.

Experience

  • Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, Electronics Technician for Information System Technology, Process Electronics Technician, IT Specialist, or equivalent related profession
  • Alternatively, long-term professional experience as a Non-Commissioned Officer / Sergeant in Air Force operational control service
  • Professional experience with operating systems and databases like ORACLE and LINUX
  • Professional experience with network technologies

  • Must agree to participate in a medical examination. Must agree to and successfully pass an expanded security clearance (Ü2). Must be willing to perform 3-shift work (24-hour operation). Must adhere to the liberal democratic basic order (Grundgesetz).
