Job Summary

This role seeks a highly skilled and motivated Scientist to join the Research & Development team in Heidelberg, focusing on biologics drug discovery within Immunology and Hematology. The primary objective is to identify and optimize therapeutic candidates by expertly utilizing advanced phage display technologies and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows. Key daily activities include the design and construction of phage display libraries (for antibody fragments, peptides, or alternative scaffolds), performing rigorous selection and screening using biopanning, and integrating NGS for comprehensive library quality control and diversity assessment. The successful candidate will analyze complex sequencing data to guide candidate optimization, develop directed evolution strategies, and collaborate extensively with protein engineering and computational biology teams. This permanent, full-time position requires a Ph.D. or an M.Sc. with significant relevant experience in molecular biology, strong hands-on expertise with display platforms, and excellent English communication skills, offering the opportunity to advance human life within a growing global biopharmaceutical company.
