Job Summary

The GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt is seeking an Electrical Engineering Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Quality Assurance group (PMO-QUA), focusing on the new FAIR accelerator facility. This role involves ensuring the quality of electrical components during both construction and operation phases of the FAIR facility, one of the world's largest research projects. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring compliance with relevant norms (e.g., ISO 9001, DIN-VDE) and safety standards, developing and implementing quality assurance measures, and reviewing quality-relevant documentation such as specifications, test plans, and conformity certificates. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, possesses professional experience in the field, and has initial experience in quality management methods (e.g., Audits, FMEA). Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and fluency in both German and English are essential for success in this international, technically driven environment.
