The DB Energie GmbH is seeking a (Junior) Electrical Engineer specializing in Secondary Technology Planning for 110 kV/15 kV rail power supply systems in Leipzig. This role is crucial for ensuring the sustainable operation of Germany's rail power grid. The position begins with a comprehensive, twelve-month onboarding and qualification program, including mentorship, focusing on planning engineering for energy supply systems. Day-to-day responsibilities involve creating detailed planning documents (phases 2-6 of HOAI) for new construction and modernization projects concerning station control technology and remote control systems. The engineer will develop technical solutions, prepare specifications, manage project timelines and costs, and coordinate with clients and engineering firms. Ideal candidates possess a degree in Electrical Engineering (specializing in Automation/Grid Control) or Industrial Engineering (focus on Electrical/Energy Technology) and excellent German language skills (C2) are mandatory for effective technical communication and project execution.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering (specialization in Automation/Grid Control Technology) or Industrial Engineering (focus on Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology)

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical and professional implementation of infrastructure projects (ideally in HOAI performance phases)
  • Initial knowledge in energy supply, preferably in energy systems
  • Initial knowledge in railway operations (a plus)
