Job Summary

This role is ideal for a skilled Chemical Laboratory Technician or Chemical Technical Assistant eager to contribute to preventative environmental and health protection within a nationally renowned, non-profit institution in Gelsenkirchen. The primary focus involves the analysis of environmental samples, specifically drinking water and raw water. Daily tasks include the determination of organic trace substances utilizing advanced gas chromatography techniques (GC-MS, GC-ECD, Headspace), comprehensive sample preparation, accurate measurement, and meticulous data evaluation. Candidates must possess a relevant completed vocational qualification, demonstrate proficiency in laboratory organization and documentation using LIMS, and be capable of working independently while being a strong team player. The position offers meaningful, responsible work, flexible 37-hour work week options, and a supportive culture focused on work-life balance. This is initially a two-year fixed-term contract with the strong intent to transition to permanent employment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician (Chemielaborant), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemical analysis and laboratory procedures
  • Experience in the field of Gas Chromatography is desired
  • Experience analyzing environmental samples, particularly drinking water and raw water
