This role is for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join a dynamic, agile team in Hamburg, contributing significantly to software quality assurance for a hidden champion specializing in critical real-time information and warning systems across Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining automated tests for Web, API, and Backend systems within modern CI/CD environments. Key responsibilities include leveraging Java and frameworks like Cucumber and Selenium, executing API tests using tools such as Postman or REST Assured, and integrating automation into pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI. This position requires strong programming skills in Java, practical experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, familiarity with containerized environments (Kubernetes), and a background working in agile Scrum teams. Required Skills

Education

University degree or completed vocational training in IT, or comparable qualification. ISTQB® Certifications (e.g., Certified Tester Foundation Level, Test Automation Engineer, Agile Tester) are a plus.

Experience

  • Professional experience with Java programming
  • Professional experience with test frameworks like Cucumber
  • Professional experience in developing and executing automated API tests (REST) using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar
  • Practical experience with Selenium, Jenkins, Git, and GitLab
  • Experience with JMeter for performance and load tests
