Job Summary

The Flensburg Urban Renewal Company (FGS), acting as the fiduciary trustee for the City of Flensburg, is seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Managing Director to lead urban development and renewal initiatives starting October 1, 2026. This pivotal role involves preparing, executing, and finalizing urban development and renewal measures based on the German Building Code (BauGB) and state urban development guidelines, focusing particularly on revitalizing districts facing urban and social deficiencies. Key responsibilities include the fiduciary management of special urban renewal assets, including property management. The ideal candidate must possess several years of leadership experience in urban planning or public construction, coupled with strong team leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to effectively manage diverse stakeholders, including political bodies and the public. A background in general administration (higher service level) or a degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or Construction Engineering with a focus on renovation is essential.
