Job Summary

Join the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI in Leipzig as a Clinical Logistics and Sample Shipping Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in organizing and executing logistics processes for the production and distribution of patient-specific, cell-based gene therapy products across Europe. Your day-to-day will involve meticulously preparing shipments, from labeling and cryogenic packaging to timely handover to couriers, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. You'll also manage the receipt and registration of cellular starting materials and coordinate global sample shipments to project partners and analytical laboratories, all while maintaining comprehensive, GMP-compliant documentation. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. Ideal candidates will have a background in life sciences and a willingness to undergo a security clearance.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational or school education in life sciences (e.g., Medical Technical Laboratory Assistant (MTLA), Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Biology Laboratory Technician, or comparable field)

Experience

  • Professional experience in logistics of pharmaceutical products (ideally)
  • Professional experience with customs matters (ideally)
