Job Summary

The Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) is seeking a Scientific Employee for Radio Telescopes at its globally unique Wettzell Geodetic Observatory. This five-year fixed-term position involves project-based work, focusing on the maintenance and advancement of high-frequency components and fiber optic links for HF signal transmission, alongside associated IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include planning new radio telescope installations, designing and executing measurement campaigns, and processing VLBI raw data within international scientific collaborations. The role also requires implementing AI-based methods in system engineering and data processing, and ensuring compliance with critical infrastructure requirements, including ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a relevant technical or scientific field and possess strong organizational skills, self-reliance, and a collaborative spirit.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Geodesy, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical-scientific study program.
